White Portland cement is a hydraulic cementitious material made by finely grinding white Portland cement clinker with an appropriate amount of gypsum. Its performance characteristics and application scenarios are as follows:
Performance Characteristics
● Pure white color:
The main indicator is whiteness, usually the whiteness value is not less than 87 (according to the GB/T2015-2017 standard for "White Portland Cement"), and it can be mixed with pigments to make colored cement to meet decorative needs.
● Moderate strength:
Strength grades are divided into 32.5, 42.5, 52.5, 62.5. Early strength increases rapidly, and later strength is stable. It is suitable for projects with both strength and aesthetic requirements.
● Lower hydration heat:
Compared with ordinary Portland cement, the hydration heat release is relatively gentle, and it can be used for medium-sized concrete projects, but the temperature needs to be controlled for large-scale construction.
● Good weather resistance:
The surface is smooth after hardening, and it has strong weathering resistance. It is not easy to fade or powder when exposed outdoors for a long time, and it is suitable for outdoor decoration.
● Workability is similar to ordinary cement:
Indicators such as setting time and stability are similar to ordinary cement, and conventional construction methods can be used, but impurity contamination of color should be avoided.
Application Scenarios
● Architectural decoration projects:
Used for indoor and outdoor plastering, decorative mortar (such as white walls, columns), or mixed with aggregates (dolomite, marble, etc.) to form white concrete, creating a simple and modern decorative effect.
Making decorative components, such as sculptures, reliefs, decorative railings, terrazzo floors (with colored aggregates), to enhance the aesthetics of the building.
● Colored cement products:
Mixed with inorganic pigments as a base material to produce colored cement bricks, square bricks, pavement bricks, etc., used in garden landscapes, square paving, etc.
● Special decorative needs projects:
In the restoration of ancient buildings, it is used to match the original white or light-colored brick and stone structures to maintain the historical features.
Grouting tiles in wet environments such as bathrooms and kitchens, or used in combination with waterproof materials, combining waterproof and aesthetic functions.
● Art and crafts:
Making plaster models, ceramic molds, artificial stone, etc., using its pure color characteristics to meet the requirements of artistic creation for texture.
